Our heritageDelhi, four generations
A paper-products shop in Delhi, a family that kept building, and four generations that turned it into a manufacturer.
Late Shri M. L. Gupta
Grandfather of our CEO and the founder of the business. He established a paper-products trade in Delhi, and the family has been in paper ever since. Everything Desmat does today, from labels to thermal rolls, grows from the trade he started.
Shri R. S. Gupta
Father of Ashok Gupta. He joined the family business and carried it forward through the early decades of independent India, keeping the trade in the family’s hands until the next generation was ready to take it national.
Ashok Gupta, now Managing Director and CEO, joined the family business and set a new plan in motion: take Desmat out of Delhi and build sales offices and warehouses across the country. That network gave the company a leading position in all its major product categories.
The next step was to stop depending on others for the material itself. A new, independent coating plant for label laminate began production in Sonipat, and coating, printing, conversion and finishing now sit in Desmat’s own plants.
The fourth generation has joined Ashok Gupta: Arsh Gupta (joined 2016), who leads finance, online sales and promotions, and Archit Gupta (joined 2018), who leads all-India channel sales.
